Art Optical Awards Specialty Contact Lens Travel Grants

Grand Rapids, MI – Art Optical Contact Lens, Inc., a leading provider of custom contact lenses, in partnership with Contamac, recently named the winners of their Specialty Contact Lens Travel Grants. These deserving individuals have demonstrated the use of Art Optical lens designs to solve patient needs in unique situations and received financial assistance to attend the Global Specialty Lens Symposium in Las Vegas last week.

Receiving travel grants were Dr. Claire Chu, Cornea & Contact Lens Resident at Pacific University College of Optometry who presented “Ocular Sagittal Height as a Better Predictor of Scleral Lens Sagittal Depth than Keratometry in a Case of Post-LASIK Ectasia”, featuring Ampleye®; Dr. Annie Dong, Cornea & Contact Lens Resident at University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry who presented “Unilateral Hyperopic Orthokeratology Correction in Patients with Functionally Emmetropic Fellow Eyes”, featuring Moonlens®; Dr. Wincy Chung of Mission Eye Care who presented “Vaulting the Cornea:  Visually Rehabilitating PMD with Scleral Lenses After Failure with Corneal Gas-Permeable Lenses”, featuring Ampleye; Dr. John Kuznia, Cornea & Contact Lens Resident at Pennsylvania College of Optometry who presented “One and Done:  Ortho-K Fitting in a Pediatric Patient with High Astigmatism”, featuring Moonlens; and Dr. Louis Ramirez, Cornea & Contact Lens Resident at University of Houston College of Optometry, for “Visual Optimization with Scleral lenses Following Intracorneal Ring Segment Implantation”, featuring Ampleye.

As dedicated supporters of optometric education, Art Optical and Contamac are pleased to present the travel grant opportunity to students, residents and young OD’s interested in specialty contact lens practice. Initiated in 2022, Art Optical has now recognized and rewarded 25 individuals with travel grants to attend specialty lens meetings. Past winners and their submissions, as well as additional qualification details and grant applications, can be reviewed at www.artoptical.com/travelgrant. Those with advanced interest in specialty contact lenses are encouraged to apply for a travel grant to attend one of the remaining professional contact lens meetings in 2026.
