Grand Rapids, MI (January 2, 2025) – Art Optical Contact Lens, Inc., a leading provider of custom contact lenses, in partnership with Contamac, recently named the winners of their Specialty Contact Lens Travel Grants. These deserving individuals have demonstrated the use of Art Optical lens designs to solve patient needs in unique situations and will receive financial assistance to attend the Global Specialty Lens Symposium in Las Vegas later this month.
Presenting posters to their peers at the meeting are Dr. Gillian Uldrich, Cornea & Contact Lens Resident at Indiana University School of Optometry presenting “When Scleral Lenses Won’t Do: Corneal GP for Post Refractive Ectasia” featuring AKS®; Dr. Reneta Simeon, Ocular Disease & Primary Care Resident at Illinois College of Optometry presenting “Challenges with Scleral Lenses for Patients with INTACS” featuring Ampleye®; Dr. Mary Avisado, Cornea & Contact Lens Resident at Pacific University College of Optometry presenting “Drug Delivery and ‘Round-the-Clock Scleral Lens Wear for Recalcitrant Neurotrophic Keratopathy” featuring Ampleye; and Megan Cruce, a fourth-year student attending Salus at Drexel University who will present her poster titled “Precision Vision: The Advantages of GP Multifocals in Astigmatic Presbyopes” featuring Renovation®.
Also receiving travel grants are Dr. Josh Normandeau and Dr. Diana Masolak, Cornea & Contact Lens Residents at Illinois College of Optometry, for their case reports featuring Ampleye & THINSITE®.
As dedicated supporters of optometric education, Art Optical and Contamac are pleased to present the travel grant opportunity to students, residents and young OD’s interested in specialty contact lens practice. Initiated in 2022, Art Optical has now recognized and rewarded 15 individuals with travel grants to attend specialty lens meetings.
