Grand Rapids, MI – Art Optical, the largest independent custom contact lens manufacturer in the U.S., has introduced a new Rx lens marking system for its Ampleye® Scleral lenses, designed to enhance fitting accuracy and improve in-office efficiency.
Each Ampleye Scleral lens now features a unique engraved identification number that corresponds directly to the number listed on the lens invoice. This lens-to-invoice matching system enables practitioners to quickly verify lens parameters during the fitting process and helps prevent confusion in cases of patient handling mix-ups between eyes or multiple sets of lenses.
“Because Ampleye lenses are highly customized and incorporate parameters that are not always verifiable with standard in-office instrumentation, we saw an opportunity to provide an added layer of clinical precision,” said Bethany Peebles, FAAO, ABOC, NCLE-AC, Executive Director of Consultation Services at Art Optical. “This engraved identification system enhances traceability, reduces the potential for mix-ups, and gives practitioners greater confidence that each lens is matched correctly to the intended eye.”
Available exclusively in the U.S. from Art Optical, Ampleye Scleral is a fully vaulting scleral lens system developed by the KATT Design Group to address the growing needs of patients with irregular corneas and ocular surface disease. Backed by more than a decade of clinical performance, Ampleye Scleral is trusted by thousands of practitioners nationwide for its precision design and consistent outcomes.
