Bethany Peebles has been a valued Art Optical associate since 1999. Throughout her 20 years of service, she has exhibited consistent excellence in all areas. This year, in particular, Bethany’s role within the organization and her standing in the industry have advanced significantly, making her an obvious choice for Associate of the Year.
In addition to the day-to-day tasks involved in running the Consultation Department, Bethany also became a member of the management and marketing teams this year, where her knowledge and insight have added immediate value. She utilizes her technical expertise in several key areas, including:
- Ongoing training and development of our fitting consultants
- Acting as the on-site trainer/supervisor of the Cornea & Contact Lens Resident OD from MCO
- Lecturer/contact lens workshop coordinator at several Colleges of Optometry
- Lecturer/trainer for private & group practices seeking to advance their custom lens knowledge
- Representative at key meetings and conventions
- Developer/editor of technical training tools, references & resources
- Published writer/contributor for industry trade journals
Most notably, as was announced in early November, this year Bethany accomplished something no previous Art Optical associate has attempted in earning Fellowship status in the American Academy of Optometry. The FAAO designation is a significant accomplishment that requires extensive work & preparation – including several published case reports and scientific publications, an original 6,000 word paper, and sitting for an oral exam at the American Academy of Optometry meeting. In qualifying for and maintaining fellowship, individuals are evaluated against the highest standards of professional competence. The letters “FAAO” after person’s name signify to colleagues and patients that rigorous qualifications have been met. Bethany Peebles, FAAO, ABO, NCLE-AC has earned professional status and recognition that puts her at the very top of her field.
2018 is the second time Bethany has been named Associate of the Year for significant growth and achievement. We are grateful for her dedication to our customers and her numerous and valuable contributions to Art Optical.
